A former Auditor-General, Mr Edward Duah Agyemang has corroborated claims that Nana Akufo-Addo indeed declared his assets before leaving office as required by law.

The Enquirer newspaper, in a publication Wednesday claimed the NPP flag-bearer breached the Constitutional Provision requiring all government officials to declare their assets upon assumption of office and before leaving office, by failing to comply.

Though Nana Addo’s aide Abu Jinapor maintained the publication was false, the Editor-In-Chief of the Enquirer newspaper, Raymond Archer insisted he got his information from the Auditor General’s Department.

But the man who was in charge at the time says the Enquirer report cannot be true.

He said Nana Addo’s representative brought completed Assets Declaration Forms to him and he directed the person to the officer-In-Charge who received the documents.

“I checked with the officer who was then in charge of the Assets Declaration Forms and he confirmed to me that he remembers that he received the forms from Nana’s representative,” Mr Duah Agyemang said.

He also denied claims that only fifty ministers declared their assets during the eight years of the Kufuor administration.
